Breast Education and Awareness Project

The Vinton County Health Department, funded by The Susan G. Komen, Columbus affiliate, is now offering breast health services to the residents of Vinton & Hocking Counties and the Wellston City School District.

The Breast Education and Awareness Project (BEAP) has a wide variety of educational materials and a breast  health educator available to all women of Vinton County, Hocking County, and the Wellston City School District.  Services offered include free mammograms and gas vouchers for out of town appointments that are related to breast health or breast health follow up.

Individuals that may qualify for the free mammograms and gas vouchers include women who are:

  • 40 years old or older
  • Have no insurance or have a high deductible
  • Have insurance that does not cover mammograms
  • Live in Vinton County, Hocking County, or the Wellston City School District

Call to see how the BEAP can help you, your family members, and friends:

At this time, any woman aged 16 years and older that resides in Vinton County, Hocking County, or the Wellston City School District can receive educational materials, instruction on breast self exam, instruction on healthy habits for proper breast health, and one-on-one counseling on breast issues.

These services are available at the Vinton County Health Department, in part, by a grant award received from Susan G. Komen, Columbus Affiliate.  Call for more information or to schedule an appointment today.
